Suesca Rocks

Located roughly an hour and a half north of Colombia’s capital Bogotá, the Suesca Rocks are a must-do for all rock climbers. Perfect as a day trip for those on a traveling time crunch, this original birthplace of rock climbing in Colombia offers hard, compact sandstone for climbers to tackle. And with over 300 routes to choose from, it’s impossible not to be captivated.

Want variety? This sandstone wall has slabs, roofs and splitter cracks that challenge rock climbers at every skill level. And the views? Of course, they’re breathtaking. You’ll see everything from scenic countryside to local flower plantations and nearby dairy farms. And as far as the wall itself, if you plan to reach the top, expect to climb up 430 feet; but don’t worry, the climb is divided into four pitches providing breathers along the way.
